Michal Murin (SK)

Intermedia artist and teacher. He has been dedicated to experimental and contemporary music since the 1980s, and from 1984 to 1989 he regularly corresponded with Karlheinz Stockhausen. Since the mid-1980s, he has been creating graphic scores, acoustic performances and conceptual music projects. He has collaborated with Milan Adamčiak on a number of projects since 1987, and is a founding member of the Transmusic Comp. ensemble and both, together with Peter Machajdík, founded the Society for Unconventional Music – SNEH. He was active in the physical, nonverbal, experimental theater ensemble Balvan. He has organized festivals, and is engaged in journalistic and curatorial projects, for example in the DIG Gallery and in the Kunsthalle in Košice. He works at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica, since 2019 he has been a professor. He is dedicated to mapping Adamčiak’s work; he participated in the preparation of Adamčiak’s retrospective in Slovak National Gallery in 2017.
