Svätopluk Mikyta (SK)

Svätopluk Mikyta is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart and a DAAD scholarship holder at the Universität der Künste Berlin. In 2008, he received the Oscar Čepan Award for young Slovak artists. He is the head of the Drawing and Graphics Studio at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Brno University of Technology. In addition to his own artistic work and pedagogical activities, he is active as a curator and dramaturg of the activities of the Banská St a nica residential platform, which he co-founded. At JAMA, he will perform a solo online performance – Fungi Cyani that starts with collecting mushrooms, an act that is inseparably linked to Milan Adamčiak and his activities in the district. Random movement and the random finding of a random number and species of mushrooms is the starting point for the visual composition on paper that arises from this performance.
