Erik Sikora (SK)

Erik Sikora, also known as Džumelec, is a conceptual artist from Košice. He showcases his performative practices live or shares them as videos or songs on the internet. He blends the conventions of motivational lectures, concerts, stand-up comedy, teaching, personal engagement, and various other elements, all while, in the words of curator Jiří Ptáček, “he bounces on the edge of awkwardness”, much to the delight and joy of the audience. He is the recipient of the Oskár Čepan Award in 2019. Currently, he works as an educator at the Studio of Photography and New Media at the Faculty of Arts of the Technical University in Košice.

At JAMA 77, he leads one of the workshops as part of Dielne 77. Students can sign up for it here.
