Richard Hronský (SK)

Richard describes himself: “I’ve been Richard Hronský since 2002. As a child, many things attracted and excited me. Playfulness and a lack of understanding in what I did have persisted in my life to this day. I am primarily involved in organizing collective exhibitions VYSTAVENISKO, OSVIT (2022), ROZPTYL (2023), and in a music/sound project under my own name (album Konspekt, 2022). I have been producing music since 2015 (blime project, 2018 – 2023). Besides that, I draw, paint, play instruments, and even take photographs. During the summer months, I carry out KREA-TÚRY (2021, 2022) (creation during hiking in a collective). In my artistic work, I am fascinated by mystery, and by human degradation and its peculiarity. Since 2020, I have regularly participated in collective exhibitions and creative symposia. I work here and there to make all these joyful things mentioned above possible, and at the same time, I study at the Department of Photography and New Media at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava.”

On the occasion of JAMA 77, Richard will spend a week in Banská Belá as part of the first manned crew of the premiére JAMA (micro)residency, along with suburban drifter and peripheral researcher Jürgen Rendl. During the residency, they will explore and respond to local and non-local holes and pits and other phenomena, do a lot of walking, and even a bit of hitchhiking. They will present the outcomes of their residency as part of the main program of JAMA 77.
